How the estimate is calculated
- Per-component placement cost: €0.012 best case, €0.020 typical (includes feeder setup amortization).
- Through-hole hand-insert: €0.45 per insertion.
- Setup fee: €180 fixed (stencil, feeder load, first-article inspection).
- AOI in-house: €0.25 per board (Class 2) or €0.55 per board (Class 3).
- BGA / fine-pitch surcharge: 12% on placement line.
- Double-sided surcharge: 60% (two passes on the line).
- Shipping (EU): from €25 small orders to €120 pallet.
The estimator does not price components — BOM cost depends on sourcing risk for your specific MPNs. Range shows best-case to typical labor + AOI + shipping only.
Frequently asked questions
Is this an actual binding quote?
No. This is an indicative range based on average per-component placement cost, setup, and shipping. A binding quote needs gerbers, BOM, CPL, and quantity confirmation. Use this to set expectations before you send files.
Why a range and not one price?
BOM cost varies with component sourcing — same board, same line, can cost 30 percent more if a single passive went obsolete and needs a brokered alternative. The range reflects best-case to typical sourcing risk.
Does the estimate cover bare-board fabrication?
No. The estimate covers assembly, AOI, and basic shipping. Bare-board fabrication runs through a partner fab; we add that line to the binding quote when we see your gerbers.
What if I need functional test?
Functional test is sourced through partner test houses. Add 10 to 25 percent for an FCT run depending on fixture complexity. Not included in this estimator.
