Engineering system design
Cellular-managed street lighting platform (SuperNet_Light)
Head-end + GSM/SMS + per-pole wireless modem architecture for managing municipal street lights individually: ON/OFF, 0-100 % dim, sun-calendar scheduling, energy log.
What it is
SuperNet_Light is the system we built for municipal street-lighting fleets. A central PC at the operations centre talks to a GSM modem and sends SMS commands to one or more remote GSM modems installed at the substation cabinet. Each remote GSM modem fans out to a chain of up to 10 BHV wireless modems, one per lamp. Operator picks a municipality, sees the network, and per-light commands turn the light on or off or set a dim level from 0 to 100 %. Three R/S/T phase scripts with ten on/off times per phase per day; sun calendar drives switching against astronomical sunrise/sunset for the station latitude/longitude with daylight-saving toggle; per-station energy log graphed; unsent-SMS queue managed; product registration handled by SMS to Energetika-VDS technical support.
What we built
- PC + GSM modem head-end with COM-port driver
- BHV wireless modem hardware and firmware (one per lamp, chained on the LV feeder)
- Per-phase script editor with up to 20 on/off actions/day
- Sun calendar form with 365-day graph (red sunrise / blue sunset)
- Energy log per station with chart
- Unsent-SMS queue dialog with TX/RX/ERR indicators in status bar
- Per-product SMS-based registration on first run
Technologies
- GSM/SMS uplink
- Custom BHV wireless modem PHY
- Astronomical sun calendar (lat/lon, daylight saving)
- Multi-station SMS scheduler with retry queue
- Hierarchical site database with R/S/T phase scripts
Deliverables
- SuperNet_Light Windows installer
- BHV modem board (per-lamp module)
- Substation cabinet BOM and wiring drawing
- Operator manual rev 1.0

2012 platform on 2G GSM. European carriers are sunsetting 2G/3G between 2025-2028. We port the head-end and BHV modem stack to LTE-M / NB-IoT as a paid engineering refresh.
Part of our GSM remote-control & telemetry family
Cellular control and telemetry products that share the same GSM stack. One supplier, one migration path off 2G to LTE-M / NB-IoT when you need it.
GSM SMS Controller
Switch three 2 kW relays by SMS. Dual-band 900/1800 MHz, external SIM, RTC + mains backup.
M96 SMART meter (GSM option)
Single-phase smart meter with optional integrated GSM modem for remote read and tariff write.
T96 STC6NKP meter (GSM option)
Three-phase multifunctional meter with optional integrated GSM modem.
