K-96 Digital Real Time Counter

Single-phase digital real-time operating-hour counter with dual 10 A relays (tariff and maxigraph), 1-minute resolution, and 72-hour lithium backup.

Overview

K-96 is our entry-level digital RTC-relay product. Two independent 10 A / 230 V relays drive a tariff output (R1) and a max-demand maxigraph output (R2). 4-digit LED display, 1-minute resolution on lapsed time, and a 3.6 V lithium backup that retains the clock and counters for 72 hours through a mains outage. Used in HVAC service, building management, and tariff-zone signalling.

How it is used

Building services and small commercial sites use the K-96 to log operating time on motors, pumps, HVAC compressors, and lighting circuits, and to provide a tariff signal (R1) plus a max-demand signal (R2) for downstream relays.

How we build it

Built on our DDM Novastar line. SPR-45 prints SAC305 paste with extra deposit on the relay and mains-side pads. LS60 places the controller, RTC crystal, lithium backup cell holder, mains-side components, and small signals under vision check; the two 10 A relays go in by hand before reflow. GF 120HC runs an 8-minute SAC305 profile peaking at 245 °C. AOI on every joint.

Assembled on our in-house Novastar SMT line: SPR-45, LS60, GF-120HT.

Optical inspection and test

AOI inspects every board: relay solder coverage on the high-current pads, RTC crystal alignment, battery holder polarity, mains isolation gap, and every passive placement. Functional test (when the customer test plan requires it) at a partner test house: each relay exercised, lapsed-time counter increment verified against a reference, and battery-backed retention checked across a power-cycle.
