M96 C6NKP Single Phase Electronic Watt-Hour Meter

Class 2 single-phase electronic meter with four-tariff register, optical IEC 62053-21 port, 12 Mb load profile, and 60 A direct connection.

Overview

M96 C6NKP is our single-phase residential billing meter. Same metering controller platform and optical IEC 62053-21 stack as the three-phase family, packaged for 220 V single-phase with 10(60) A direct connection. The 12 Mb internal memory logs Ir, Ur, and Wr at programmable 1-60 minute intervals (47 days at 1 min, 94 days at 2 min), readable through the optical port at 300-9600 bit/s. Multi-line LCD shows OBIS-coded registers. Built on the same line as the T96 family with shared design and test fixtures.

How it is used

Residential service drops, small commercial, and tenant-fit-out. Optical IEC port supports walk-by reads; 12 Mb internal log captures Ir, Ur, Wr at programmable interval. Field engineers configure tariff calendar and serial number through the optical port.

How we build it

Built on our DDM Novastar line. SPR-45 prints SAC305 paste through a 120 µm stencil with extra deposit on the 60 A shunt path. LS60 vision-checks the metering IC, LCD driver, optical-port IR LED, RTC crystal, and lithium backup cell. GF 120HC reflows at 245 °C. AOI on every joint. Per-unit calibration constants to NVRAM.

Assembled on our in-house Novastar SMT line: SPR-45, LS60, GF-120HT.

Optical inspection and test

AOI inspects every board: metering IC pitch, RTC crystal alignment, LCD ZIF seating, IR LED orientation, and solder fillet on the high-current shunt. Functional test at a partner test house: reference current and voltage injection, pulses verified against 800 imp/kWh within Class 2 tolerance per IEC 62053-21, optical port exercised, load-profile commands validated.
