T96 C1NKP Three Phase Electronic Watt-Hour Meter

Class 2 three-phase CT-connected electronic meter with optical IEC 62053-21 port, four-tariff register, 12 Mb load profile, and per-phase voltage / current readout.

Overview

T96 C1NKP is our three-phase CT-connected electronic billing meter for industrial sub-metering and grid-tie applications. Built on our own metering controller platform with a 32.768 kHz quartz RTC, lithium-backed retention, multi-line LCD, 12 Mb internal load-profile memory, and an optical IEC 62053-21 port for walk-by reads at 300-9600 bit/s. Manufactured end-to-end on our SMT line: paste print on the 120 µm stencil, vision-checked placement of the metering IC and optical front-end, SAC305 reflow, and AOI on every joint. Per-unit calibration constants are written to NVRAM and stamped against the production database before the unit ships.

How it is used

Industrial sub-meters, grid-tie billing, and large-service distribution. CT-connected 5(6) A secondary lets the meter scale to any primary current through the customer-supplied CTs. Optical port supports walk-by reads by any IEC 62056-21 Mode C reader; 12 Mb load profile lets billing engineers reconstruct usage long after the event.

How we build it

Single-sided SMT board produced on our DDM Novastar line. SPR-45 prints SAC305 paste through a 120 µm stencil with extra deposit on the three CT input pads and the bridge rectifier. LS60 vision-checks the metering IC pitch, RTC crystal alignment, optical-port IR LED orientation, and electrolytic polarity. GF 120HC reflows at 245 °C peak for 8 min. AOI inspects every joint after reflow. Per-unit calibration constants are written to NVRAM and stamped against the production database before sealing.

Assembled on our in-house Novastar SMT line: SPR-45, LS60, GF-120HT.

Optical inspection and test

AOI inspects every board: metering IC pitch, RTC crystal alignment, LCD ZIF connector seating, IR LED orientation, and CT input pad geometry. Functional test at a partner test house: three-phase reference source injects 5 A balanced and unbalanced loads at varying cos φ, pulses verified against the 8000 imp/kWh constant within Class 2 tolerance per IEC 62053-21, optical port exercised at 300-9600 bit/s, and load-profile save/read commands validated.

Commands: consumed energy per tariff, 15-month historical register, per-phase voltages and currents with ±0.02 V / ±0.02 A accuracy, time/date set and read, tariff calendar set, serial number set/read, identification readout, fault display. 12 Mb internal memory with E/D/W/R/M/G command set. Log interval 1-60 minutes for Ir/Is/It and Ur/Us/Ut.
