T96SD4N Prepaid Three Phase Two Tariff Meter

Mechatronic prepaid three-phase meter with integrated 100 A three-pole breaker, smart-card top-up, dual LCD, and two-tariff billing.

Overview

T96SD4N is our prepaid metering platform built around the same metering core as the T96 family with the addition of an integrated three-pole 100 A circuit breaker, a smart-card reader for credit top-up, and a second LCD that shows the remaining balance. On zero credit the breaker opens; the next valid card top-up re-closes the breaker. The integration of metering electronics, breaker trip/close coil drive, and the card-reader interface on a single board is the design we deliver. The production line stamps every unit against the database before sealing.

Key features

  • Integrated 100 A 3-pole circuit breaker driven by the meter
  • Smart-card credit top-up interface
  • Dual LCD: tariff register and credit balance
  • Two-tariff billing with active-tariff indicator
  • Auto disconnect on zero credit, auto reconnect on valid top-up

Standards

  • IEC 1036

How it is used

Utilities deploying prepaid service drops for residential and small commercial. Customer tops up credit by smart card; meter disconnects load at zero credit through the integrated 100 A three-pole breaker, reconnects on next valid card top-up. Two tariff registers cover peak/off-peak prepaid billing.

How we build it

Single-board mechatronic integration: metering ICs, dual LCD glass and driver, smart-card reader interface, three-phase mains supply, current shunts, and the trip/close coil driver for the 100 A breaker, all on one assembly on our SMT line. SPR-45 prints SAC305 paste with extra deposit on breaker driver pads and shunt path. LS60 places SMD parts including LCD drivers and the SAM card reader connector. GF 120HC reflows at 245 °C. AOI on every joint. Calibration constants to NVRAM.

Assembled on our in-house Novastar SMT line: SPR-45, LS60, GF-120HT.

Optical inspection and test

AOI inspects placement, LCD ZIF seating, smart-card reader connector polarity, and the high-current shunt solder fillet. Functional test at a partner test house: pulses verified against the 400 imp/kWh constant, breaker trip on zero credit, breaker re-close on valid card top-up, and dual-LCD register display.
